Sorry if this seems like a silly question, but I couldn't find an answer to it anywhere.
I have just moved from a G3 powerbook (OS9.2) to a new ibook. I moved the itunes library file so that the new version of itunes has all my playlists etc. however if I insert a CD that I have already ripped (on the old computer) the ibook no longer recognises it.

I am considering re-ripping my CDs in a different format but really can't face downloading all the (CDDB) ID tag info. again and correcting all the errors etc. Is there another file on the G3 that I can transfer to the ibook so that it will recognise the CDs again, or can I somehow link the CD info. already corrected in itunes to each CD?

On OS X, the CDDB information for CDs is stored in your home folder's preferences (username/Library/Preferences), where username is your user ID in OS X. The files are named "CD Info #.cidb" On my computer, I have 15 of these files, even though I've ripped dozens of CDs. It looks like each file stores infor for multiple CDs.

Check your system preferences folder in OS 9 to see if similar files are there, and then copy them all over to your Library>Preferences. That should work.
