Not updating play count in iTunes

For some reason when I connect my iTouch to my laptop it is not updating the song playcounts in iTunes. Does anyone have any tips on how to resolve this?

Nope - I believe its a known bug. I have the same issue. Sucks...

Yep, it is a bug. iTunes isn't even updating my play counts whenever I play files off of the computer. I can play a file 4 times over and over again, properly close iTunes, let is save my library, open iTunes up again, and my play count for that song says 0.

Are you manually managing your music? If so, play counts are not synced. This is standard behavior on all iPod models, I believe.

I use auto-sync, and my play counts are updated just fine. The only problem I've had is if Safari crashes while browsing and listening to music at the same time. But that hasn't happened in a while.

Just got a Touch and finding this annoying - sometimes it updates and sometimes it doesn't which is odd... I listened to the Touch for 2 days solid over the weekend and have no playcounts to show for it - but today I played one album and it updated. Very odd.

Anyone have any theories as to what causes this? All plays from my classic and shuffle update fine.
