Hi guys, I'm hoping some of you might have some experience with this problem. I've got a jailbroken iPod touch that I accidentally dropped the other day. Now, the device itself works as it should, yet nothing happens when I connect it to the computer or into the power outlet with an A/C adapter. I've tried different cables and different PC's, without success. I've also tried to reset and format the device without any luck. 5 minutes ago it ran out of power... '

Is this device ready for the garbage at this point? Could it be that the fall damaged something on the inside of the device? I'm unable to sync it or charge it, and my dealer told me Apple most likely won't do any service on it due to the fact that it's jailbroken... I'm assuming I'll just have to get a new one, unless any of you have some expertise on this? Keep in mind, there's no power on it anymore so I'm unable to do any fancy button-tricks.

Thanks in advance guys:)

Sounds like you killed it when you dropped it, electronic devices don't handle getting dropped to well.

Depending on when you bought it, if it's still under warranty, I'd still bring it into an Apple Store, and see if they can get it working. I'd play dumb to the fact that it was dropped, and I'd also play dumb to the fact that you jailbroke it.

If he gets it working, and it comes up - then, that's good. he's not going to break it again, because you JBroke it..

my 2¢...
