I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX 2 door coupe. I've already got a sweet Belkin auto kit for power and audio out, and a head unit with an aux input. Now all I need is a mounting solution. I'm considering a Belkin Tunedok. Anyone else use one of these in a Civic? Does it fit well?

What does the cup holder look like in your car? I used to own a 94 Civic, and the Tunedok's small cup fit pretty well into the holder(though pretty tightly). Here's a picture: <http://www.geocities.com/drseil/ipodsetup.jpg>

I have a 2000 white Honda Civic EX coupe and got the tunedok. It fits pretty well and secure in the smaller cup holder using the tunedok base with the notches all around....don't bother using the other 2 smooth cup/bases (they were made specifically for VW's with the retractable cup holders). You can also place the tunedok in the larger cupholder in the Civic as long as the stock small cup adapter is in place. Good luck!

I just got the TuneDok for my '96 toyota camry. It works really well, although the smallest cup is very snug in my cupholder. If you haven't already, buy one here (for $12.79):

I picked one up, and the fit wasn't quite as snug as I like. But I'm going to keep it and wrap something around it, to make it a little tighter.

Alright, with a few mods, I got my iPod mounted up pretty good in my 2000 Civic. As I said, the Tunedok was a little loose for my taste, so I modded it up. I got some Foamies foam sheets. I made a cylinder with some 3 mm thick stuff and slid it into the removable cupholder adapter (the passenger side cupholder). The cylinder's diameter was just about exactly the inner diameter of the cupholder. It can slide in and out nice, but still stay in tact pretty firmly. Then, for added tightness, I took a strip of 2mm thick foam, with adhesive backing, and wrapped it around the base of the "smooth" Tunedok cupholder insert. Fits like a charm now, and it's pretty clean and unnoticable. Check out my pics if you want.

P.S. Note the sweet Pioneer head unit, with aux input. A must have for sound quality and a clean mounting.

Hey eastsidejason...
Nice mod, but I was looking at your pics and saw that you were using the tunedok base with the smooth surface all around. Didn't you try the base with the vertical ridges around it? I found that one to fit much better.

Yeah, I was using the "ribbed" one before I modded it and it fit OK. With the foam it just worked out perfectly with the smooth one.
