Brand New touch, Not recognised in itunes, Comp reconsises as Camara??

Hi there,
Just got an ipod touch for my birthday, and couldnt wait to get it set up, but all that happens is it asking for me to plug it into itunes, on the screen (well thats what i guess the picture means?!) My computer recognises it as 'apple ipod' but has a camara logo for it and i am asked what program i want to launch, Dell picture studio, word or scanner and cam wizard? Its doesnt automatically open itunes nor is recognised by itunes. I have tried most things i have found on different forums, such as re install itunes with the most update one and try different ports, and also tried to update hardware in device manager, Nothing has worked! Its also not such an easy case just to take it in to an apple shop, as I'm in Oxford and the nearest shop is London I believe, So any ideas?

mh ... I would try a different usb cable, maybe your cable is somehow broken.
and if you're running windows XP, make sure you have Service Pack 2 installed.

in the end, if it doesn't work, you have to return it.

Yea I have tried another USB cable from my other ipod and no difference. Running XP and yea have service pack 2 installed. Thanks anyway though

You need to update your iTunes. Had the same problem until I updated iTunes. Your version doesn't know the iPod Touch from crack.
