Due to a problem whereby when I went to watch a video, it's got random colours and black on the parts that have movement.
I want to restore my ipod yet itunes isn't recognising my ipod.:(
Is there any other way I can restore my iPod and how do I make iTunes recognise my iPod?
Extremely grateful for any help!!

I'm assume that you've been able to sync before, correct? If you haven't or are now unable to, don't do the following procedure or you won't be able to use your iPod Touch. And I assume you've already been through all of Apple's troubleshooting procedures - http://www.apple.com/support/ipodtouch/troubleshooting/
If you want to force your iPod Touch into restore mode, you can do the following:
1. Turn your iPod Touch all the way off (hold down the top button until you get the red slider OR hold both buttons until it powers off then let go)
2. Hold down the home (front) button and keep holding it down. Don't let go.
3. Plug in the USB cable to the bottom of the iPod Touch. Keep holding that button down.
4. Your iPod Touch should start up. Keep holding that button down.
5. You should see an iTunes icon with a cable. You're now in force/emergency restore mode and you should be able to restore with iTunes. And you can let go of the button now.
