Hi
I have an iPod2 30gb and when I plug it into my Firewire Hub (which is powered) the battery icon begins to show the iPod is charging, however it is in fact opposite... and after a short time (depending on the amount of syncing) the battery dies...
(I had this problem on my old iPod 5gb model too)
any ideas...

What else is on the hub? Which hub is it?

Its an arvel 4 point hub.
Connected to it is
1/ The Mac
2/ Buffalo 120gb Ext HD
3/ Dig Video Cam Cable
4/ iPod (well not at the moment.)

Hmmm. Well, you might try unplugging the digital cam and the external drvie, then plugging in the iPod, to see if either of these is drawing power.

Hmmm that didnt work...
The iPod mounts on the desktop... but on low charge she wont mount in iTunes...
I would dearly like to just plug it into the PB, but all my music is on the ext drive....
any other ideas?

You might try pluging your iPod diretly into your Powerbook to see if it is indeed the hub.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say there's something wrong with your iPod. Try restoring the software.

Doing that as you were typing I suspect...
The Updates says it has been restored.. please leave connected while it completes the process..
the ipod say ok to disconnect.. been in this position for about 3 mins... anyword on how long restore should take.
