At first I was gonna buy an iphone and unlock it using Ziphone giving me the use of :-

02 simplicity 15
200 mins + 400 text
+ Unlimited Wifi
+ unlimited Web bolt-ons

= £30 a month

But if I enter the 18 month contract with a non hacked phone (Less trouble and risk)

600 mins + 500 text
Unlimited wifi + unlimited Web
Visual Voicemail

= £35 a month

I have decided to go legit and hopefully according to the regulations if further better tariffs come out in the next year I will be able to change :-

--------------------------------
Charging
Unless otherwise stated, call prices include VAT, are quoted by the minute and are charged in one second increments. Each call is charged excluding VAT and then rounded-up to the nearest penny. VAT is then added to the total of all charges on your bill. iPhone customers will be able to move between iPhone tariffs once every 30 days.--------------------------------

If anyone would like to voice the reasons I should hack instead please let me know (I don't get my iphone delivered for another few days and if good enough reasons go the other way....damn why can't I make up my mind.

Jailbreaking is not about saving $, it's about the additional features and able to use a foreign carrier.

What additional features is worth while, I jailbroke my Touch but to be honest most of the third party apps aren't great, there fun don't get me wrong, but I can't think of any that is a must, although I read something about MMS which would prob be handy.

To add, its probably my paranoia, but I have not been convinced that there is no risk of having problems later on, and for £330 I don't think I would like to take the risk of getting barred by 02 or bricked.

well, that's personal taste, but for me apps like apache (to read pdf/xls/doc/txt/html on-the-go), mobilescrobbler, mxtube, bossprefs, poof are things I really don't wanna miss. the ability to switch off the stupid autocorrection feature is enough for me to jailbreak to be honest - I just can't type with that stupid feature turned on. and besides the third party apps, I customized my phone in various other ways like the settings menu, texts all over the phone, appnames, icon arrangment, carrier image, all kinds of alternative wallpaper etc. etc.

Well here's what ima tell you.

Its simply a matter of choice. For most, they chose to hack their iPhone simply because they do bot wish to renew their contract while some have done so became they are satisfied with their current provider and do not wish to change to ATT.

I for one chose to hack my iPhone because I do not wish to pay a lot of $$$ for my cwllphone bill. So instead of switching to ATT, I kept my service with TMobile.

Im with BlackWolf.

If you ever should jailbreak your phone, you will never go back to OEM. It puts the fun back into cell phones.
