iPhone Sync Delays & General Slowness

Hi everyone...thanks in advance for reading my post.

I recently got an iPhone (hacked using ziPhone) and have experienced VERY slow response and sync times in iTunes. For example, upon connecting the iPhone via USB, iTunes takes at least 1-2 minutes to stop "pinwheeling" and display the device. When I try and click on one of the sync tabs, such as Info, it can take upwards of a minute to respond. And of course, syncing the iPhone, even when no changes have been made, can take upwards of 10 minutes.

Has anybody else experienced such slow response times? I have included my computer details if therein lies the problem...

Powerbook G4 1.5 GHz
1 GB RAM
OS 10.5.2 Leopard
iTunes 7.6.1
about 800 contacts in iCal

I suspect it could have to do with only having 1gb of ram. Try unchecking the things u don't absolutely need to sync in iTunes and see if that helps. also check that iTunes is the only process running. U got a PowerBook so it should be plenty quick enough.
