is it possible to connect an ipod touch to a tv to view your films?
if so what lead do i need to buy?

You can use any RGB cable, just make sure to connect it to the TV swapping the YELLOWpin with the RED one. It works (I use it regularly) and it's definitely cheaper than 49$....

I use the old apple OEM dock with their video out cables, and it works well! I use it alot to view movies on the big screen in my office. I just watched No Country for Old Men, was fantastic.
