Ipod touch Sync

Hi really cant understand how this issue with my ipod touch is baffling me.

I connect my ipod and fire itunes i can see my playlists but when I disconnect my ipod the playlist have lots more songs ??? which i dont want! I want the playlist i have created :confused: also how do I use manual sync not auto when I connect my ipod.

What do you have the iPods Music sync settings set to?

Im using Itunes 7.6.1.9 and I dont see the option to select which Ipod version.
And I cannot see the manual option for sync?

It's in the Summary tab to the right when you select your iPod in iTunes. Check "Manually manage music and videos".

Even if you set it to sync a selected playlist (which is a preferable method) in the Music tab, only the music in that playlist should show on the same playlist on the iPod and only that music will sync to the iPod. You can then just drag and drop music to that playlist and still retain the ratings, playcounts and other data in iTunes that makes smart playlists a more powerful option.
