Someone please help me, I'm desperate!

I need to know how to set images in the background under the icons. I have no idea how to jailbreak or whatever. So could some please give me instructions.

-Go to ZiPhone.org and download the ZiPhone program.
-Run ZiPhone
-Click Jailbreak iPod touch
-Codes should run down your screen.
-Once it is done, turn on your iPod.
-You will have a program called Installer.
-Tap the Installer application.
-Go to "Install" (on the bottom)
-Then tap "All Packages"
-Scroll down to "BSD Subsystem"
-Tap "BSD Subsystem"
-Tap "Install" on the top right hand side.
-Once it is done downloading, click the home button.
-Your iPod should go to the "Slide to unlock" screen by itself.
-Slide to unlock
-Tap BSD Subsytem
-Tap Themes
-Choose theme
-Click the home button

The theme should change the background of your iPod touch.

You can download themes on the "Installer" application

Think you're a little confused Stay Alive - BSD Subsystem does not have an application. It's an underlying/background technology. I think you mean to download Summerboard after BSD Subsystem and then go to Summerboard for the themes.

Do I have to have a wifi connection? If so I do I get one?

To install most applications, yes you do need a wireless connection. You need to have a wireless router at your house or you need to get to a wireless hotspot somewhere (like Starbucks). Preference would be to do it from your house...

Well, my only problem is I don't have a wifi connection. I don't even have wireless internet, I'm on dial-up. So is there any hope?

You can always buy a wireless router for your home network. Not going to be very fun over dial-up, but I guess no worse than what you're using for your computer...
