LOL but you can make coffee tho, I can search for a starbux in maps then tap on it and then the number order some coffee and maybe a scone or something then I can get directions and up today traffic information so I can avoid the 5 car pileup on the highway!
But if I want to take a video of my godchild playing with her new barbie 4 wheeler I can't? Huh
I never saw a phone with a camera and not be able to take video
And why can't my buddy sent a video from
his phone to mine?
Hey maybe it will be a upgrade in a future firmware update.

don't think this is possbile, technically, so I don't think we'll see that.
honestly: phone videos are mostly crappy quality and people use them very rarely anyway, so why bother with it?
receiving videos is the same ... MMS are rarely used and never established themselves as a standard. receiving videos via email would be cool, admittingly, but they would be too big probably, since you would need something like 320*480 pixels which results in large videos.

If you have a jailbroken iPhone you can take video with it with a program called showtime. You are limited to only 5 seconds but it works out pretty well. So if its available through jailbreaking, I'm sure it will be a available as an sdk program.
Its about memory, really, just the issue that the iPhone has very low memory and apple is very very conservative about program allowances with that...

Oh that TWO separate things.
Able to capture video - IT WILL, like u say every Joseph&Harriet phone can do already.
Attach this video to a MMS and send it... Alright, u made it sound like full-feature movie, that would be too big. This, I wont hold my breath, but u SHOULD be able to send short clips, low-res video captured by the phone.
Once I captured a short clip with my friends' V3/Verizon, and send it to my V3i/AT&T account and it worked! I dunno if there is a size limit if any, never tested out. The quality was horrendous... hopefully whatever becomes available for the iPhone is more acceptable.
Sending your Godchild videos..... WOW slow it down there! ppl don't wanna see your vacation pictures more than your videos, even though they are too polite to tell you so. AND the said attached video is gonna take a LONG time (relatively speaking) to download to their phones which will amplify the annoyance. Soon, they gonna BLOCK your number! ;) The civilized thing to do of course is give them a Link and they will watch at their convinience.

Fair enough it can't take video's but I think that's a software issue rather than a hardware one so we may see it in the future. I'm on O2 in the UK and whenever my friends send me MMS, be it picture or video. I get sent a text directing me to the O2 website where it is available for me to either view or download. So I'm not that fussed. Obviosuly it my work
differently on other networks.

no it does the same for AT&T in the us as well. Only trouble is, if you don't have wifi you are screwed as far as videos go but also pictures too. That , and its a pain in the ### to have to log into some web site just to see a picture / video your friend sent you.
