Hi guys,
I think this is a very good question.
I bought a good quality Belkin base for the iPod. It is powered ( by an AC adapter )
and plugs into my amplifier.
The base is always powered, and so, this means that if you have any iPod sitting on the dock, the iPod is continually being charged.
Although I have never read anything about this, something tells me this is NOT the ideal situation for the iPod as it is never being discharged.
I have decided now, that I will remove the iPod Touch from the base, after each use.
If you think about it, the same charge is going on, with all the speaker / docking systems you see in the stores today. Place the iPod on the speaker dock, and the system starts to charge the iPod. ( again, no discharge is allowed, so this is a potential problem ) and I'm sure there are many that let their iPods sit on these doks for weeks on end.
I'm talking about a docking base / speaker system like this:

Does anyone have any thoughts on this ?
