Hi, I have noticed that my ipod touch's volume, even at it's lowest point is significantly louder than that of my ipod 5.5G's at the lowest point. And the touch is louder at every other volume setting. I have put a volume limit on it but it doesn't seem to help. I have tried different headphones for each but it doesn't seem to help. The only way I can see if it I manually lowered all the volume settings in iTunes but that would affect my ipod 5.5G as I still have that. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

I heard that a couple of times now. return your touch. I read in the offical apple forums from some people who had a touch that was way too loud. sounds like you got one of those. if you have, get a new one.

at the lowest point of your volume bar there should still be some noise, but very little. if your touch is still loud at the lowest point than you definetly got a faulty one.

It's not still loud, it's just a bit louder than when it is compared to the ipod 5.5G that I have. Thanks for your response! Do you know if that is it, like it is just a bit louder and nothing else is wrong with it? Or could it be something larger than just the volume being slightly louder?

mh ... doesn't sound like a problem to me. maybe it's just imagination? for example I imagine my iphone having mouch better sound than my ipod touch, though this is kind of impossible since they use the exact same hardware.

but the problems I read about with the touches volume were different. they were so loud it hurt, even at the lowest volume, and that doesn't seem to apply to your ipod.
I never owened a 5.5G ipod, I just heard that touches are normally lower in volume than the 5.5G was. but maybe that was changes, I suppose you bought your touch not too long ago?

wouldn't worry about it though or does it disturb you in any way?

Nah it doesn't affect me that much, you're right BlackWolf. And I did recently buy it, so maybe you were right about it being switched around too. Thanks again everyone.
