In album flow some of my cover art does not show up. Sometimes nothing shows up. The cover art shows in iTunes but some of it gets lost when I sync. If I replace the art and resync then the new art shows but some of the old art disapears.

Both iTunes and the iPod are all up to date.

seems to be a "common" problem, meaning it happens sometimes. the best way to get rid of it, I guess, is to delete all music from the touch and re-sync it. this should get rid of the problem.

SAme problem here with a 32 Gigs.
Almost every New album that I sync on my iPod (that have cover art on iTunes) is transferred without the cover art.

Best solution for me is to manually edit the info of the entire album tracks directly on the iPod and paste again the Cover art. A bit annoying but so far it has worked without any problem.

Ciao

I have the same problem. most of the music is from my zune, that I converted over to my ipod. could this be the cause of the issue? I didn't get all of my music off itunes. in my zune I have cover art for all of my albums, but my touch only about 30% have cover art.

If I were to try this, how would I delete all my music from just the ipod an not itunes?

If you auto-sync your Touch you could un-check all items in your library, set the Touch to sync only checked items, then re-sync. Or, simply restore the Touch.

If you manually manage the Touch contents, you can select all items on the Touch and delete, or simply restore the unit.

simplest way is to enable "manually manage music and videos", then, in itunes, click the arrow next to your ipod in the left sidebar, click "music" below the ipod and you get a list of all the music on your ipod. mark them all and delete them and they will be deleted from the ipod. next, simply uncheck "manually manage music and videos" and all the music gets synced back to the ipod.

I have the same problem and it's appears to be greatest hits albums that it's happening with. I have deleted all from Itouch and then manually copied them back, checking as I put them on and it's the same 3 or 4 albums that won't show in cover flow view. When you play these cd's and then turn Itouch to show cover flow it will show up as a different artist and it's this artist's greatest hits. An example is I have Tim McGraw's greatest hits but no cover flow showing for him and when playing him and turning itouch it will display Billy Idol's greatest hits as cover and then when you click on the cover to display songs it will list some of Billy Idol's and some of Tim McGraw's songs....weird.

I have also tried like stated above to recopy the cover art directly to connected Itouch and this didn't help.

Really wish Apple would fix this....:o

ranbart, sounds like you might have a different issue, which is the one where the iPod mixes up albums that have the exact same name. For albums with the exact same name, try differentiating them by changing at least one of the album names to either include the Artist's name (e.g. "Greatest Hits - Tim McGraw") or, my preference, append a space to the end of one of the album names. The point is, make the album names different.

Using a space at the end is enough for your iPod to tell the difference between "Greatest Hits" and "Greatest Hits ". I prefer this method since it keeps the album name appearing the same. Not a big deal for Best-Of type albums, but it is a big deal for regular albums that happen to have the same name (e.g. "True Love" by Toots and the Maytalls, and "True Love" by Pat Benatar).

Thanks Rockmyplimsoul that worked and fixed my problem. Still weird how some of the greatest hits cd's show fine while others wouldn't show until I did as you suggested and put spaces on the end of album name.:D

Personally, I don't like greatest hits albums, I like to have the original album the song was on. The only problem I've had is double covers of the same album

Nice hijack ;) :D
Double covers of the same album suggest either a tag issue that makes iTunes think there are to versions of the album or a sorting tab issue.

If it's an issue with your sorting information, the double album in question will be 100% reproduced when you look at the to versions. If it's a lower tag issue: album artist, disc tag, artist, or album tag messing it up, the albums will have tracks split between them of the two versions.

For sorting tab issues either clear all sorting information or make sure it's the same for all songs on the album.

For the lower tag issues this article sometimes helps you identify the problem: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1468

Tags aren't always what they seem, so look carefully, getting info on all tracks at the same time can sometimes expose tag mismatches.
