Hey guys, just a question

It is a good idea to leave Wi-Fi on while it is charging via outlet OVERNIGHT? Should I turn it off and charging? Will that "wear" Wi-Fi down?

what would be the point of leaving wifi on? could happen that wifi sucks more battery than you gain from charging, so I wouldn't recommend it.

I don't bother turning it off. 30 seconds after sleep starts, Wi-Fi turns off like JustChaos pointed out... You can ping your iPod Touch to verify...

Ah-ha!!! ROFL!

How does exactly WIFI "wears down?" Like the antenna, after sending repeat radio waves, losses efficiency and can't send as strong anymore?

So u already know WIFI turns itself off when asleep... so.... are u concerned for the few minutes the Touch goes to sleep will bring premature wear?

Ummm... ping :D

In Windows, go Start > Run and type "cmd"
At the command line just type "ping -n 60 <YOUR IP ADDRESS>" That'll ping for about 60 seconds. You can watch it disappear about 30 after you put it to sleep.

Yes .
My estimate is, it accelerates premature battery wear by 0.00000542%, which is counter-balanced by the 5 seconds extra it takes u, and the energy it take, to turn it off manually.

Verdict - Dunn worry about it.
