Hi guys. This is my first post, and I'm happy to be here!

I have a very specific accessory that I'm looking for, and it doesn't seem to exist yet.

To me, this seems like such a simple solution, but I can't seem to find one anywhere:

I would like a mini-carabiner clip that has a swivel, and an ipod connector on the end. It would be great for the nano, because this clip could be used with any case that leaves room for the dock connector. It would also protect the dock connector from collecting dust when out and about. I don't think that sturdiness is an issue, since even apple made a lanyard that fit into the dock connector for the first generation ipod nano. This solution would be so perfect for me, that I would be willing to pay $20 to $25 for it if it was well made, though I believe it would be very cheap to manufacture.....

look at this 1g nano case, but imagine the clip on an ipod dock connector inserted into the ipod:

It could be a low-profile dock connector, or even something made out of solid metal.....

What do you all think? Does this exist yet? And if it doesn't, which case and accessory manufacturers out there will actually listen to potential customers?

Thanks for the feedback, and I look forward to talking to all of you!:)

Hey all,

I'd like to bring this idea to a manufacturer. Which manufacturers listen to customer requests?

I was able to get a positive response from iskin regarding this request. iskin currently makes a lanyard that should be easy to modify to become a carabiner, belt loop clip, or keychain style connector. If any of you would be interested in seeing this product as well, please post here, and I will forward the responses to iskin.

Thanks!

I'm not sure about how many people would want to leave their iPod exposed like that, but it is a rather clever idea.

Yeah...not too sure if I'd be down with letting 400$ hang on my belt.

anybody that uses the macally metro, and various other cases are already doing just that. I personally have been using the metro since it came out. The problem I have with the metro is that it leaves the front face of the nano exposed. that problem would be solved by using a dock connector clip, and then using any hard protector case that I like that has an access opening for the dock connector.

I personally like the idea. Only thing is....I use a radio remote with my ipod, a design like this would block the dock connector. But for those that don't it'd work well and be cheap to produce.

I recently purchased a ccore case for my nano 3g (http://www.corecases.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=45&category_id=1&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=49&vmcchk=1&Itemid=49), it's stunning, compact but very protective (I'll post a review soonish once I've got some pictures), its tab for a lanyard is also very well positioned if you wanted to add a loop and carabiner.

I've actually got a spare carabiner, what you can do is just unscrew the full length of the lanyard to leave the short loop connected to the case and hook this on et voila, a well protected carabinered ipod.
