I searched the forums a bit but couldn't find my specific problem..

I got my ipod 16G touch for christmas, since then, it has crashed to the point of needing a restore 5 times. I have been updating the software and keeping it current.

The battery also runs down (without alarms on) overnight, but only a few times a week. Battery life during normal usage is fine.

I sent my ipod back to be warrantied and they said they could not find a problem and are sending it back to me right now.

What should I do next? I am very frustrated at the poor support for such a great product.
Thanks all.

Why would you restore if it crashed? What exactly crashed? When it crashed typically an app just closes to home screen, why would you resotre for a crash like that? Do you have wifi on overnight causing the battery to drain? Why not turn it off to avoid battery drain? If you sent it in, and they said nothing is wrong, well, maybe nothing is wrong bro!

That's weird -- the only thing I could think of is that you're disconnecting during syncs or something? Maybe that causing corruption and putting you into restore mode? I'm not sure -- I just know I haven't had to restore my iPod Touch, except to jailbreak. Do you have an Apple Store nearby that you can try to bend the ear of a nice Genius?

If an application on your iPod touch crashes.

There is no need to restore.

The crashing of Safari has happened to everyone.

Just enter the application again and it it will work fine.

I make sure to turn off the wireless when I am not using it, even though that should not make a difference. So the wifi is always turned off overnight when i have had the battery drain.

And by crash, I mean I try to wake it up from standby with the button on the front and then the button on top and nothing happens. I then plug it into my computer where I get a message along the lines of "Ipod must be restored to sync". This has happened several times.

And unfortunately, no apple store here in Montana.
