I have yet to really turn off my touch off. I tend to put it to sleep rather than putting it to a full shut down. I have not had any power issues or problems knock on wood. I just want to see what most of you are doing. How often do you sleep your touch as compaired to doing a full shut down? From my experience with mac products such as powerbooks and iMacs the sleep function has been more than impressive.

Same here, I put it to sleep just about all the time, even when playing my music. If i want to stop, i simply pause it then put it to sleep.
I have shut the thing down before a few times, one to see what it looks like (and just for the sake of it ;p) and the second was when I had encountered a bug where the 'back arrow' (to go back) and 'now playing' buttons in the ipod menus went missing. Also another time, was when some of the covers in coverflow stopped showing and couldn't fix it buy scrolling back and forth or exiting and entering etc...
Being it nearly 2 months old, they have so far only occurred once. Hopefully they've been fixed in 1.1.4... Other than that, not much else of a problem here, all the apps work fine.
Yeh sleep mode is a real time saver, especially with their mac products..
Even Windows PCs, like my laptop in which i put to standby and hibernate most of the time.. although they do need a full restart every once in a while..

I never fully shut down my iPod touch. The only time I've done that is when I'm having WiFi connection issues and want to restart the touch.

It's like my iMac - I put it to sleep, but never turn if off. Maybe a restart every couple of weeks, but that's it...
