View Full Version : Does the 32GB iPod Touch have the "negative screen" problem?

It's been awhile since I've been at ilounge so I'm a little out of "touch" with the latest buzz. I returned an iPod Touch last year because of the negative black screen problem plaguing it. Has apple fixed it with the 32GB? Does the screen quality equal the iPhone?

EDIT: And, do iPod Touches seem resilient enough to use without a case?

thanks in advance

I would use a case just to keep it nice but it isn't really fully necessary

I disagree with that. Just search the forums and you'll find plenty of instances of people saying "I believed the hype - now my iPod Touch is all scratched up!" Is it stronger than plastic? Of course. Can it still be scratched up with just a little grit in your pocket? Yup. Pickup an Invisible Shield. Be safe rather than sorry.

As for the negative screen issue, I haven't seen a post complaining about it, so I guess not.

The screens in all iPods are fine now, you don't really risk getting a negative at all anymore.

I use a Griffin Elan enclosure, which is hard shelled, and I do have screen protector. I am very worried about keeping my good old touch in top nick!

Thanks all for the input, I think I'm gonna buckle and get one with a case, 32GB is much more usable then 16GB.

im glad to hear this. after dealing with bad screens on both the iPhone and iPod, i returned my last iPod Touch in december. I figured i'd wait it out, hoping that they would fix the issue. I just ordered a new one and am hoping everything is well.
