Problem with Apple Lossless and iPhone ?

I have a very strange problem with my iphone.

I store all of my music as Apple Lossless.

When I sync (say) 10 new songs 3 or 4 of them will stop at somepoint in playback sometimes with a horrible "glitch" noise.

I searched a number of of forums but counldn't find the same problem with iPhone only iPod. Stranglely I don't have the same problem with my iPod. Anyway one of the wotk arounds seemed to have been deleteing the song from the sync list, resyncing, adding to the list and resyncing.

Here's the strange thing ....... If the song cut at (say) 11.34 minutes to go 1st time, when I deleted/sync'd/added/sny'dt would cut at 7.01, if I did the same thing it would cut at 2:09. All the songs I resynced would only ever cut later in the song !!!

Any suggestions ?
Anybody using Apple Lossless without a problem ?

I run Vista 64bit with my music on a seperate NAS.

Its not just Apple Lossless. I erased a few CD's and reripped using ACC -Same problem.

I'd like to try and elimiate some variables if you would be kind enough to help me, please.

Is anyone using the following combination (or parts) without a music playack problem ? :

Windows Vista 64bit
music stored on NAS
iphone running 1.1.3 (unlocked)
iTunes 7.6

I use primarily 256kbps AAC VBR for the encoded music, and haven't experienced any glitches like you described. However, I'm running on a mac so that may be of little help.

OK I appreciate this isn't a widespread problem but 115 views and only one person prepared to help !!!!

I'm not looking for advice to solve the problem (although that would be great) I'm trying to solve this issue myself. I will then post so that if anyone else has the problem they can find a solution.

I have a hunch that its sometghing to do with my 64bit system given no one else seem to be having problems. So I would just like to hear from anyone using 64bit Vista. Are you having problems ? are you using the 64bit version of itunes ? Do you store your music on an NAS ?
