Uploading games/apps. to Iphone

I heard that I can find games, applications on the internet, that I can upload/download onto my phone.

Is this true?

How do I get the game/app onto the iphone?

Are there any potential problems that could happen?

Any particular sites that are better than others?

At this point the only way to do so is if you have a jailbroken iPhone. You can find plenty of tutorials online on how to jailbreak it.
