Exchange server progress?

Just checking because my google search didn't yield anything promising. I have held off on buying an iphone because I use an ms exchange server on my windows mobile device to sync my contacts, email, tasks, and calendar over my AT&T data plan. This way anytime I add anything such as a new contact, my assistant who is also connected to the server also automatically has the contact on hers.

Has there been any news on this possibility of doing the exchange sync on an iphone?

There was a job posting a couple of months ago with Apple looking for someone to help in the development of using Exchange on the iPhone. Ever since then I haven't heard a thing about it.

So, it looks like Apple is wanting to develop and support it but when it will happen is anybody's guess.
