Ok.....
My question to most is......Is doing the whole Jailbreak worth it? Im not as tech savy as most....but than again im better than some. Is this like opening up a pandora's box. I worry that once you start messin with the software....you might screw something up, and then ill really be stuck.
How hard is it to do these things...and recover if something goes wrong. SHould I just wait for that update that will let 3rd party applications be used?
THANKS!!

Kick yours down to 1.1.1 and then 1.1.2 jailbreak it. Yes it's worth it. If anything were to go wrong, which is definitely less than likely,
then you just restore it back to 1.1.3.
The upcoming SDK is fine and dandly, but i refuse to pay $20 for the January Upgrade when i already got the same apps for free after jailbreaking, and i'm sure the post-SDK apps will have another pricetag. No thanks!

Well I definately do have the upgrade already. How do i Kick it down.....when it came with the 1.1.3
IMO Jailbreaking is too much work. I had to restore my ipod 6 times when it would go into restore mode on its own or itunes couldn't sync with it. Now you have to downgrade to 1.1.1 and then upgrade to 1.1.2 and then to 1.1.3. It's a huge pain. I just can't justify the time sink.

Depends on the person - totally worth it for me. Jailbreaking has given me apps that have made owning my iPod Touch 10x better than I had hoped.
As for how, go visit www.ipodtouchmaster.com - he's got video tutorials and all the files you'll need to jailbreak and do the necessary down and upgrades...
As for getting back to the start, all you have to do is hit restore in iTunes and you're back to your factory settings...

Let me point out that you didn't get the apps 'for free', but in fact, you're STEALING them. These apps cost money, and you're using them without paying for them. That's piracy as far as Apple's concerned.
I don't care if people jailbreak, but don't give me that "vive le revolution!" crud when it comes to pirating the January applications. Just own up to the fact that you're illegally copying and using the software. I'd respect that.

I've jailbroken, and I OWN the January software applications - I paid my $20 for them. You can have it both ways...
