I don't have any videos loaded in the ipod, but over half of the memory is allocated for videos. Any ideas why?

well, if you have tv shows, movies, music videos or podcasts on there that goes into the video category. see all those categories in itunes and on your ipod and see if anything is in there. if you really don't have any videos and it shows that in itunes, restore the ipod and sync again which will probably solve the problem.
