Could anyone please let me know if the BBC's iPlayer website works on the safari browser on the Touch? ie can you watch the videos (ie stream them- NOT download them)?
Considering buying a Touch in the next few months- so just seeking to clarify a few of my queries.
Many thanks
Ian

FYI - iPod Touch does not have Flash. So, any online videos that use Flash players won't work...

There is a way to grab the stuff of there and play them on you iDevice. Get Orbit Downloader and follow the instructions here : http://www.orbitdownloader.com/Use-as-FLV-Downloader.htm
then once you have the FLV file just convert it to MP4 and your laughing :D

Long answer, no it doesn't work but it may well do in the near future. I wrote up the technical hurdles that need to be jumped here: http://www.allaboutiphone.net/2008/02/could-bbc-iplayer-be-headed-for-the-iphone/
A report in the Guardian today quoted the BBC's Ashley Highfield as saying that there would be a working iPlayer for iPhone and iPod Touch over wifi "within weeks" :D
Cheers
