wanna buy a ipod touch

i'm in China, and i wanna buy an 8G touch cause compared with the 5G 80g,touch with WIFI and safari and 3.5” mon and other practical softwares is more attractive personally.
however,it's heard that the price would be cut soon and the 8g model would be discontinued also.Now i'm in such a dilemma~buy an 8g one now or wait for another unknown period for its price cut to buy a 16g one with same money?i'm afraid there's such a long time:o
Furthermore,the WIFI network is not so popular in China and i can just access to the internet in Starbucks or at home~is it sensitive or wise or rational enough for me to buy an ipod touch? BTW,i'm going to the UK this Sept, how about using an ipod touch there?
Last but not least, how's the approximate price of a touch in your palces?And how's the after-sales service? i must evaluate and bargain with the store acctually!

well the 8GB touch is $299.99 with a 8% tax
so i can't do math well cause its really late and i'm tired.
but i live in the los angeles suburban area and we have wifi on our whole block practically.
now for actually going out? some places have wifi...but remember the touch is mostly a wifi ipod and it would be wiser to get a bigger storage option like the 16 or 32gig or even the ipod classic...

I live in Shanghai and travel all over the country with the touch and it is pretty easy to find hotspots with free WiFi, especially in Shang, Beij and GZ. I use it in hotels, office buildings and at home and even find some hot spots on line 2 metro.
