Hmm, I don't have an ipod touch, I'm still in the window shopping faze. I know that on the new psp slim, the remote causing a "hissing" sound and people are saying that this is caused because the remote is cheap. Is it possible that people are using cheap headphones that aren't shielded against the ipod touches wifi signal which causes this hissing sound? Is the hissing still there after using a good set of headphones and turning the wifi off?

Mine does have a bit of a hiss when songs are paused, even through my Shure E2C earphones. The sound is not noticeable with music playing though.

Put it on a Dock and you'll hear hiss like crazy..in fact it sounds like a hard drive at times when I have it on my Bose Dock.

It depends on the headphones really you probably won't hear much if anything through the stock headphones.
