Earphone with no sound on iPhone ... Help

Just bought an iphone and have jailbreaked it to 1.1.1 firmware. While playing back music or video, no sound out of the speakers. If I plug in the earphone, then the speaker start to playback.
Isn't it supposed to playback through the speaker while no earphone connected and through the earphone when this connected?
Help me here guys, I'm going nuts ...

Strange. Try resetting it. Could be a bug from one of the third party program you installed?

problem solved. Just upgraded to 1.1.3 and it's all working normally ...
