I'm getting an 8 gig Iphone tomorrow. Can i jailbreak it?
What im thinking is i downgrade to 1.1.1 on the Iphone, go to jailbreakme.com and done.

Ive had a touch so im kinda familiar with it.

Will the Iphone still work if I keep it at 1.1.1?
and Is it really that easy to just downgrade and jailbreak?

If it's a new OOB v1.1.3 iPhone, you should be able to downgrade and jailbreak it, but you will probably need to return to the v1.1.3 firmware when you're done. The new baseband/modem firmware that comes with v1.1.3 seems to create problems with the older operating system firmware images, and unfortunately it cannot yet be downgraded due to the new bootloader.

That having been said, downgrading, jailbreaking on v1.1.1 and returning to v1.1.3 and preserving the jailbreak is actually not that difficult, since it's now been pretty much fully automated by a number of Install.app packages.
