only one speaker works when ipod connected

i have 6 by 9s in the back of my car, which work fine when i have a cd or the radio on, but when i plug my ipod in through the AUX connection, one of the speakers just stops working...

could this be a problem with the AUX lead??? or with the head unit itself???

any idea???
