Is there a way delete more than one message at a time? I find it hard to believe that apple would omit the ability to empty a junk mail folder, but it looks like they did.

they did. but if I'm not mistaken there is an "deletemail" thing in the installer that helps you to do that. just look for it, I think its in utilities or something.

People people people -- you gotta remember that the iPod Touch isn't designed to replace a full desktop computer. Apple Mail is designed to let you hop on and quickly check messages, but it's not strong in the organization department at all. You can't create folders, you can't delete in bulk, you can't setup rules, etc. That's why you setup IMAP and just delete in bulk when you get home.
