belkin metal remix case for ipod nano

So this is a very odd problem, which I'm not quite sure what is causing it.
Basically, I have had this belkin metal remix case for about a month now, but the other day I noticed that randomly, when I touched the touch-wheel, the backlight did not light up, but definitely had it set to light up. So, I wasn't quite sure what was going on, but I decided to remove the case. When I did that, the backlight turned on again. When I put the case back on, the backlight stopped working again. So I'm wondering why this is happening. Could it be pressure from the case...maybe it fits too tight?? If anyone has any idea, help would be much appreciated

Sounds to me like maybe the clickwheel isn't sensing the touch when you use the case - maybe the plastic or metal interferes with the electical sensors, somehow?
