You place the CD into one of your computer's optical drives (CD/DVD/etc. drives) and iTunes should alert you that you have inserted an audio CD. When it asks you if you want to import, you can hit yes, or hit "No", change the tags to your liking, then Import.

Before you import (i.e. rip the songs to your drive), you will want to go to your iTunes preferences and set your import settings (do you want mp3's, aac audio files, etc.? These are things to decide on now before ripping your CD's, let you have to do it again in the future. There are great threads around this site to help educate you).

If you have an online connection, iTunes can look up the track names and, if the songs are in the iTunes library, album art.

no prob. I've been importing quite a few cds myself lately. doing that and then making sure the library is organized properly on the portable HD i'm using is quite a task:p
