I just got my iPod touch and jailbreak 1.1.3 today and am having some problems with the mail app. It was working great with my first gmail account that I added, though since I added my second gmail account, the messages will no longer load on either account.
Right now, my gmail account reads "Load 14 More Messages... 14 messages total, 2 unread" and when I click that it says "Laoding 14 more messages... 14 messages total, 2 unread" but the messages never show up, it just makes the new mail ding. It just goes back to the first line of "Load 14... blah." Any suggestions of how I can get this fixed? Both accounts have IMAP on, and the first was working fine before, but now they just won't load! Help!

Anyone have any ideas? I deleted
both accounts and recreated them hoping that would fix it but it didn't.

Which 1.1.3 jailbreak did you use? If you used the early release by Nate True, there were many issues, one of which was with Mail (not sure if it's your issue - I waited). Anyways, if you go into Installer.app there's a Mail fix in the Tweaks 1.1.3 folder that might help. Check it out at least...

I used the ipodtouchmaster method from youtube which I think is the 1.1.3. Dev team version. I tried the mail app fix that was for fixing a password something or other but that didn't help. I'll go look again though.
While I've got your attention is there a good aol instant messenger app for the touch or iPhone? Thanks.
EDIT: this is the method I used ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=UQ7PsJXI0fg ). I'm actually going to go back to 1.1.1 > 1.1.2 and then up to 1.1.3 again to see if I can just fix it that way. Sure, it'll be a pain in the ###, but if it works, right?

Well, re: the IM programs - there are two I believe: Apollo and MobileChat. Problem is both of them seem to be buggy. Most people prefer www.meebo.com or www.beejive.com - although web-based they seem to work better...

I don't know if you guys still need the answer, but here is what I did and it worked. I have a jailbroken 1.1.4 iPod Touch
I used WINSCP to go into my iPod Touch. This were the steps i took.
1) Delete all the mail accounts I had. I deleted them through Setting -> Mail
2) Login to your iPod (I used WINSCP)
3) go to the Root Directory and then go to: /private/var/mobile/Library/Mail
4) here I deleted all the files that were inside the Mail directory (you may want to make a buckup copy on your computer just in case)
4) Closed WINSCP
5) Turn off and on you iPod (I did this just in case)
6) Go to mail on you home screen and set up you email. For gmail remember to use OTHER insted of GMAIL.
This worked perfectly for me, but please do this at your own risk.
Let me know if you have questions.

Delete the old messages from your mail server
