does the dock scratch?

i was at the apple store today to check out the minis. i was very impressed. my favorite thing about it is the size. i still prefer my old 3G 10GB and i have no plans for a mini. the only color i liked was the silver. ok, now to the original topic. at the store, all of the minis were in the docks. when i took them out to look at them. i noticed that all of them had scratches on the near the bottom where the mini touches the dock. it may be the enviroment they are in (millions of peple toches them), but they hav only been there for people to touch for less than 12 hours. how could that have happened? the scratches were very noticable and not a tiny thing. when taking the mini in and out of the dock, you could almost feel it scratching. anyone with a dock notice this? i warning to anyone thinking about purchasing the dock.

I think there's a strong possibility that they were not scratches per se, but more like deposits of condensation/body oils that build up and start to streak in the spots where the mini makes contact with the dock. I suppose someone here could go to a local Apple Store and, heheh, try to clean them off to see if it is simply streaking, and not scratches. The folks at the store might think you're a bit loopy, though.
