HELP

Im looking for a portable DVD player that i can either dock my 16Gb Itouch in, or
can anyone recommend a DVD player that i can plug my Itouch into.

I want to watch DVD's & Play Music Via Itouch.

Something Good Quality

I was looking at Phillips DCP750 - I dont think the Itouch will fit in the dock, but I believe i can plug my Itouch into it.

(my girlfriend has a 60Gb Video which will fit in the dock)

Any Help or Suggestions Will be Greatly Appreciated!!!

What is this Itouch you talk of, I have never heard about it? Are you talking about iTouch and their home automation system? Or could it be that you are talking about the iPod touch?

As far as DVD players with docks go, you won't find any. There are some for the 5G/5.5G iPod models but they won't work on the iPod classic, 3G iPod nano, or iPod touch. Now you can purchase a portable DVD player and Apple's $50 video cables. Turn the portable DVD player to input and then have your iPod touch output its video.

I don't see a need for a portable DVD player though given that most of them last for about 3-4 hours on a single charge unless you are willing to spend $250 for one Panasonic model that gets 12 hours of playback time.

Wouldn't it be easier to use the iPod touch's built-in screen? Why else have an iPod with such a big screen and not use it?

Thanks For your reply, I have got an IPOD Touch, I want to play music only through a DVD player, and use the DVD player for DVD's.

Can this be done, i think it will work but looking for someone to recommend a specific model?
:D

I saw this one reported to be coming out during CES coverage, that is compatible with the 3G Nano, 5/5.5G, Classic, and iPod Touch: Link (http://www.mobilewhack.com/iluv-i1255-51-channel-slim-desktop-ipoddvd-player/)
Only problems are that it is only announced right now and not yet available, and iLuv is not exactly known for being high end gear.

I take it that you want to share the music with people? Keep in mind that the speakers used on portable DVD players really can't be heard when you are actually in portable environments. For example, you can't really hear the speakers when in a car or in public places as the speakers just aren't powerful enough. Hence, headphones would be better. In fact, you would be better off getting a headphone splitter than a portable DVD player if you want to use it for music playback.

I can see getting a portable DVD player for portable DVD playback although it would be easier to rip your favorite movies to your hard drive and encode them to watch on your iPod touch. The purpose of the iPod touch is to have an all-in-one device for your music, music videos, movies, and internet browsing all in a portable package. They make portable iPod speakers (which can run off of AA batteries) for less than $40 (more like $25-ish). No need to get a $250 portable DVD player when a $25 pair of portable speakers will do the exact same thing (except play DVDs of course). You could then spend the extra money on an external battery for the iPod touch increasing its movie playback time to nearly 10 hours. I think you can spend about $80 all together for the portable speakers and external battery pack.
