Hey guys,
just wondering if anyone other than me has done this. INstead of buying a screen protector i just left the clear plastic on the screen that originally came on the itouch and but a clear case onto it so it doesnt peel off. It's working fine and screen is protected without having to buy any protector. Just wanted to know if anyone did this as well plus a tip for future buyers

Yep, i just trimmed off the peel tab. I think many of them had bubbles so that's why many people took it off. Fortunately mine was applied without any.

I had mine like that for awhile and then took it off because I was having problems using the home button. Do the screen protectors you buy effect the responsiveness of the home button?

a lot of screen protectors have a cutout for the home button so it doesn't affect it at all.

I did that while waiting for my TopSkin to arrive, which comes w/ a protector. I found that the stock film is very thin and very succeptable to scratches. Plus, trimming it to free up the home button necessitated lifting it, which introduced air pockets that I couldn't get out. So, I'd use it for as long as possible until the scratches become too annoying.

I didn't even think about this. I did this with my iPod Nano, I left the plastic on, so my Nano was never actually touched once. This was a good idea, should've done this. Now I had to waste money on a film.
