I heard that some references were made to Nike+ in the 1.1.1 firmware of the touch, but has anything come of that? Is there any chance that the Nike+ hardware will be functional on the touch anytime soon, made possible either by Apple or by a third party app? Once this snow clears, I'm expecting to get back in to running. I guess I'll keep my nano around if there's no hope of the touch getting the Nike+ function, but if I could, I'd like to sell off the nano and just keep the touch.

I've seen nothing. Considering the iPod Touch is using an entirely different firmware than the iPod nano that the Nike+ was designed for, it might be a while - if ever...

Trying on my iPod touch with 1.1.3 firmware now.... and.... no. It just pops up a "This accessory is not supported by iPod" alert.
If I were you, I'd just keep the iPod nano, anyway. I like using my nano for running specifically because it's not one of my "nice" iPods (classic or touch). If I'm caught in the rain, sweat too much, or take a spill, I won't feel all that hurt if the nano "takes one for the team." Plus, it's a heck of a lot lighter and smaller. So, since you already have both... keep both. :)Once this snow clears, I'm expecting to get back in to running.Aw, come on. Don't let the snow deter you! I'm up in Michigan (where we've had up to 14 inches on the ground at one point this year), and running in the snow is great! No bugs, pretty scenery, and lots of support from other runners you pass along the way. As long as you slow down your pace from your summer speeds - and dress appropriately - you'll be fine.
