Hi i am expecting to purchase a itouch. But from looking at topics i have 2 questions. Yes they may of been answered several times and i apologize for that but please answer them.

does anyone here jog with their itouch? I plan to workout over the summer and jam with my itouch but i am a bit skeptical because of the size of the itouch. Even if you dont jog or workout with you itouch please do give me your opinion.

my next question is, what is jailbreak. i have read around that it is a awsome application adds more features to the itouch but what exactly does it do and what are the capabilities.

Thanks for you time and replay in advance:)

The iPod touch (not the iTouch keyboard software) is a bit big and heavy for working out with IMO. for workouts the nano would be much better or the shuffle.

jailbraking simply put is hacking the firmware/software to where you can open the device up to install 3rd party apps. and hacks...

the touch is quite a bit heavier than the nano, which for me is really the best jobbing player out there. With an arm band that fits well though the touch would work well, especially if you've ever ran with a cassette player, it would seem like a pleasure to use.

As for jailbreaking, someone else will have to fill you in on that. I haven't done it. I'm curious about it though. I haven't been able to find any list of applications that becomes available as a result of jailbreaking.

Hey, I workout with my touch 2 hours a day, and it isn't really bad at all. I purchased an arm sleeve holder that wraps around my upper arm, by the bicep, and is very sturdy, and has access to all the keys neccessary to change a song. I really don't think it is a hassel, I life weights, jog, and do floor excersizes all with my touch! I hope this helps! I don't know much about jailbreaking to give advice, but working out I do! :)

Touch weight rivals the weight of my 5.5G...for jogging my ultimate suggestion is the shuffle. I think jogging with a touch is foolish since you'd have to stop to look and change settings on the screen while with a shuffle you just have to press a button while running.

Shuffle is the best for these kinds of activities. Get a refurb for $50.

Hey it's a lot lighter than my 3G 40gb (at least I think so)

But the shuffle is best for working out. Clip it on and forget about it! :)

As advised by Linksys I have altered my security setting for my router from WEP to WPA2 personal and the ipod touch still 'cannot find server' and clearly finds the wireless network OK with full signal. I have re-set all the settings on the ipod and tried manually to put in an IP address and have also spoken to apple who could not help. I don't know what to do next. Could the issue lie with my broadband provider?

Please forgive me for being Captain Obvious here, but keep in mind that when you do any kind of excercize, you are going to sweat. With that said you may find cleaning your screen a constant distraction from your routine.

I agree that the shuffle would probably be a better choice to workout with, but I'd like to suggest getting a Nano and the official iPod radio remote. I use this combination at work on a daily basis. This will give you a very light weight full featured iPod to workout with along with the quick easy control of the shuffle. I know someone is going to point out that there would be way too much excess wire, but if you use the iPod's headphone jack, the excess becomes a non issue. Another reason you might want to go with this combo is because this also gives you a radio to workout with as well.

Forget the nano and shuffle, the Sony NWZ-S618 is the small MP3 player to get. I honestly like it almost as much a my touch. Rarely do you see user review rankings on CNET as high as CNET's score but it's much higher in the case of the little Sony. :)

The Sony may be good, but seriously, for a second iPod, the shuffle refurb at $50 is a much better idea. Then you won't feel bad when you drop it on the treadmill :D
