I got an 8 gig nano 3g about a month ago and this being my first ipod purchase, quickly looked for some accessories. My local FutureShop (like Best Buy but in Canada) had a sale on all old nano accessories, including a pair of the Apple Nano Lanyard Headphones. The instruction manual is dated 2005, so I believe these were made for the 1st gen nano. But low and behold, they fit the new 3g perfectly! My nano is even in a case that isn't completely exposed at the bottom, but does have holes for the dock connector and headphone port, and the lanyard fits no problem.
So far I'm quite pleased with them, but I do realize the earbuds are the same quality as the stock ones. In fact, the ones that came with my 3g nano might even be better since they have a newer design, but that's debatable. My only gripe is these buds fall out of my ear constantly, especially if I don't put on the included foam earbud covers. But my problem is these foam covers fall off so easily I have already lost 3 of the 4 that came with them.
So what kind of replacement earbud covers for stock ipod headphones do you guys recommend? I sent on ebay and saw tons of sellers offering the foam kind... how about the silicon kind that come in different sizes, like the Griffin EarJams (http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/earjams)?
