Ipod2car question

I have an older iPod2car unit (got it in 2004) installed in my 96 SW saturn. I had a 4g40gig. the ipod just quit working. i sent it out to get repair and it worked for a little while but when I plugged it into the car it locked up soon after ward. Sent it out again to be rerepaired. again it worked for a while but when i pluged it itno the car it locked up. So I guess my question is is it possable for the iPod2car unit to be frying my iPod? I just got a new Classic and don't want to hurt it.

yes it is possible that ipod interface did have a few power problems in the past, also the software revision is old on that ipod2car
see if peripheral will update. i believe they only do that within the first year
but you can ask maybe they will help you
