I am looking a used iPod nano 2gb 1st generation. The guy said he replaced the housing front and back and the battery but when he charges it the battery only lasts about a 30 minutes. Is this just a faulty new battery? or is it possible something is actually wrong with the main/logic board of the ipod not allowing it to charge. He wants $30+$9 for shipping for it should i do it and just buy a new batter?

If you can't already afford it and are just looking for something simple save up your money and just buy a new iPod nano 4GB with video. By the time you pay $40 for the iPod and pay like, what, $60 to have the battery replaced you might as well get the new nano for $150, yeah?

$39 for a 2GB 1G isnt too bad IMO even if you have to replace the batter for another $5, so id say go ahead and get it and cycle the battery a few times then see if it needs to be replaced. Most L-ION batteries need to be cycled a few times when new to realize the full potential.
