I've got a 1999 Yukon with the OEM stereo and slave single disc CD player. What is the best direct connection type install?

Right now the PIE X3 triple with the source selector looks promising. Has anyone used this in a similar situation? Is there a better solution?

Thanks.

I have the USA Spec pa11-gm45 in my '01 Tahoe (got it from from Crutchfield). My manual says it would work in your truck as long as you have a source/aux button.

Overall, I really like it. It has its pros and cons like anything else. I believe that in the end, if you think you want to be doing a lot with the ipod - want to see it, sift through lots of playlists, search for artists, etc. then you want something where you control things via the Ipod. If you don't want to worry about messing with it, having it in view and always taking it down when you park the car, the USA Spec product does a good job. Mine is completely hidden, I never touch or see the Ipod - just control track and playlist selection via the radio controls. You are limited to 5 playlists and can't see the song info, so you sort of need to know your playlists if you want to search for a certain song. There is a direct input mode, so you can control things via the Ipod, but I have never used it and if that's what you want the other products are a little cheaper. It does have one set of RCA inputs so you can add another media device (but you lose access to one playlist).

I am happy to answer more questions about it, but if you have already decided you want control via the Ipod then I'd just be wasting my typing skills.

The best way is the pa11-gm45 but you will lose the slave cd player

or you can use the x3gm9 this interface plugs into the radio and the cd player
now you have 3 inputs and lets you keep the cd player

you can also add this cable and it will charge the ipod
