What is this itouch you talk of? Is it a new product from Apple or something?
Anyway, are you complaining or something? Apple's warranty doesn't cover user damage and they never have. Many companies like HP, Dell, and Gateway charge you over $200 for an accidental damage warranty. So if Apple did this, they would charge you about $75 for accidental coverage along with the AppleCare warranty cost.

Let me explain to you WHY most companies don't cover accidental damage, besides the fact its a loss to them.
If I were to buy a iPod Touch when they were first released and sometime 6 months later I decided I want a new one..all I'd have to do is slam it on concrete, cry accident, call apple and get a new one.
I could continue to do this until the product lifeline runs out, do you think this is fair? I don't. You are not only wasting resources to create the product, apple takes a loss and so does the store you bought it from (if not from apple).
For future reference if your iPod ever gets SOAKED IMMEDIATELY turn it off and let it dry for 24 - 48 hrs before turning it on again..liquid does not damage electronics unless the unit is on.
Let this be a lesson to take better care of your stuff, we've all had accidents..the only thing you can do is learn from it and move on. I've lost 2 video iPods so I feel your pain.
