When the Zune 1st came out , I bought one ( prior to me seeing the light) it debuted in November, so for Christmas the following month I recieved V-Moda Vibes... after reading numerous reviews about contruction and sound quality being superb.. Their sound quality is definatley one of a kind.. Its soo good that you will start to dl music in the highest bit rate possible , becuase if you dont you hear every inperfection due to the quality of the headphones.. Only misgiving I had about them is the coating in which the cable is wrapped in . Compare them to Shure or even the earbuds from apple.. which is more of a non stick rubber , the vibes are wrapped in a "rubber" or more like silicone. This 'only" gripe I had with them led to me snapping it 2 times over 2 years. . HOw it happened? say you got your ipod clipped to your hip .... headphones in your ear and cable in front of you? You quick take off your coat headphones still attached ? The headphones fit so well in your ear , and the jack so well in the player the cable has no give and neither dissconect when caught on your jacket , thus actually riiping cable at the "Y" point..
In the end .. V-moda replaced them.. TWICE, im actually waiting for my 2nd replacement in the mail as we speak... EVEN THOUGH it states specifically on their site , will no replace under warrenty due to accidental physical damage etc... I even in my initial mailing told them I took pictures if they needed to see to which they said , its not needed ... They have the most understanding Customer service I have ever encountered and truly care about customer satisfaction..
ps. if you are shopping for headphones.. the v-moda vibes are a sure hit.. minus that one flaw .. they are the best ive ever heard , and ive owned both the Shure EC3 & Sony MDR-EX90SL... both were the same price as the vibes ... 100.00 so check em out ...

Good 4 them. Still wouldn't buy a Vibes though... unatural and overpowering bass... and statistically (judging from many posts) not durable (but certainly nice) cable.
Hey Christopher! That sounds great!
I Own a pair of EX90's and I'm really happy with them, but since My wife heard them she stole them from me and ditched her earbuds, so I'm going to be in the market for a new pair for myself soon. How would you compare the EX90's to the Moda Vibes?

Depends, Bobb-mini didnt like the bass output saying it was overpowering , depending on what music you like and what player you use , will make your choice easier or harder, .... ipods have their EQ setttings that will lower bass , treble , etc, creative you can manualy adjust everything on the EQ , i dont know about the new zunes but the 1st gen ones you couldnt , music wise, you may want that extra bass, i.e. rap , club or pop and r&B, other genres you may not , classic rock , older music , me personally ive never heard anything that sounds as good as the v-moda, if you read online reviews , most mimic my opinion, applestore.com sells em , v-moda.com .. and when it comes to looks of them , they are like bentley's of headphones... practically "audiophile jewelry" all metal design, leather case , comes with like 20 soft silicone fittings for any size ear...color choices are awesome... my opinion , money cant buy a better set for the money , and they will outperform headphones for double that ...

Sounds like they are a good company, about the same as Shure who will replace the buds, no questions asked, as long as the date stamped on the jack is not more than two years old. No receipt needed.

Yup... now dont get me wrong Shure & Ultimate ears cater to a specific demographic .. v-moda in my opinion BEST for up to 100.00 ... Shure and Ultimate Ears sells sets for up to 1500 which are customer molded to ear canals... for mp3 players those are SUCH overkill , its like buying a ferrari and never for the life of the car accelerating above 65mph... Mp3 is to audio what jpeg is to graphics... its COMPRESSED , therfore loses quality .. its not FLAC or OGG .... Jpeg is not Raw ... therefore tohave such quality its wasted and in the end if anything its gonna be too good and ur going to hear stuff in ur music that may in the end hinder it, like hiss's and pops etc...

However, using my Shure E500 I cannot tell the difference between lossless and v2 VBR LAME mp3 files (about 192K), and nor can most people, even those trained to detect compression artifacts.
To continue with your car analog, using lossless files, at any time, is like using a jet engine on a Grand Prix racetrack, more than is ever needed. There is little point having more information than your ears can hear, unless you just like to waste storage space.
I have owned the Shure E2 phones, and they were a massive step up from the cheap earbuds I used before, and Shure E500s are another step up. I agree that there are diminishing returns, and those returns will eventually be undetectable by human ears, but I have not yet found it.
Having said that, I have never done ABX testing on the difference between the E2 and E500 phones, as that is very difficult to do.

Yup, I mean my dad for example who spends too much on HT equip. lol, I sell HT equip for an independt HT shop called palmer audio, my dad has a Pioneer Pro elite tv, Pardign Refrence speakers, and for his reciever he has Rotel, which is about as good as it gets, this is a company that lets you , instead of upgrading equip by buying a new reciever ...lets you send them the reciever and they can swap out components in it ... the thing weighs 30lbs and he spent more on the cables than he did the equip. Rightfully I tell customers , that when they are buying a new home theater setup .. look to spend approx 20% of the total cost on quality cables to hook it up , and that will get you like Monster Mid level cables... What i dont tell them , is to most audiophiles Monster is a joke... People who come in saying they have TOP OF THE LINE #### " oh I got top of the line system , BOSE and monster ." i seriously laugh inside.. My dad has Rotel and cables by companies like Kimbercable and Flatwire. Im talkin 500.00 for a set of component cables. Me personally I cant justify that ####... and I sell the equip, NO HUMAN eyes can tell the diff between Kimbercable Component cables with god damn 24k connecters , vs. Monster Component cables. You read the package one says " Nitrogen injected , blah blah blah sheilded for video quality... NO HUMAN NEEDS that sheilding unless you runnin those cables near a damn nuclear reactor , lol. but some people like my dad swears he can see the diffrence, and lemme tell you at 55 his eyes are a lot worse than mine. Me personally before i drop that $$ 500 on cables or 500 on headphones, Id put it towards either a Blueray Player or A center channel speaker which puts out 40% of your sound. ITS OVER kill. in order to take full advantage of a setup like that .. you need to pick out your speakers, THEN have your movie room built around your system. you build your room to the specs or output of your system. similar to how they build a recording stuido, You read online and these audiophiles spend 2 grand on these monitor headphones only to listen to vinyl. Its crazy , but hey if you got that much extra money to drop on misc. accessories, you need not worry about the price.. lol
Enclosed are some pictures of mine and my dads movie setup ...
