New Map App Q

All I need is a yes or no answer. Can you download a map or directions while you have a wifi connection (say, at home) and then take the "file" or screen shot with you in the car where you will NOT have wifi?

The cache for you latest map will typically keep it in memory once your WIFI is gone. You may receive a message when launching the app with no wifi connection, but the map will typically still be there. You can test this by loading a map, exiting to home screen, turning off wifi, then going back into the map app.

Sorry, this behavior has been my experience with my iPhone. I would assume it would act the same on the Touch, but can't say 100% for sure.

well, iphone & touch use the same OSX. so there is no different.

I downloaded a 9 step direction from my home to work. I have no WIFI at work. The directions remained if you pushed the step (next direction) button. If i dragged the map up, down, left, right, there was an empty grid that will not fill in. So the map/directions remains as it was last used when it had WIFI connection. Just load your direction at a WIFI spot and you are good to go.
