Hi.

I paid for the new apps. But decided to do a jailbreak (roll back to 1.1.1) to see if I could get more of what I was looking for. I found the .ipa file of the application install before I did the jailbreak so I thought after a restore I could install the applications again.

I did the jailbreak, didn't like it and restored.

Now obviously I don't have the new apps but when I click the .ipa file it opens in iTunes and prompts me to sync.

When I do this sync it shows this error message

"iTunes could not install the iPod touch Software Upgrade on the iPod "Andrew's iTouch" because an unknown error occurred (-3259)."

I've been searching all over the place and I can't find anyone else with this same error.

Help please?

Go to your account and report a problem with that purchase, the turn around time is great only took a few hours before they sent me the upgrade again.

Funny enough it just happened to me again after doing a simple restore to wipe out my iPod it took my software upgrade with it.

I hope this is helpful to some of you. I received an error when I tried to install applications on my touch: "Application cannot be installed because an unknown error occurred". I had no problems installing applications previously and then all of a sudden I could not install anything.

The solution (for me) was that for some reason, the drivers for my USB ports had been reset back to usb 1.1 when I installed the 2.2 Ipod touch update. So, I updated my USB ports to USB 2.0 and it solved my problem.

I hope this helps someone.

as i know, 2.2 update comes with some problems if jailbreaking. my idea is reinstalling 2.2 update if possible.

btw, i'm just a iphone user. maybe it's different from itouch here.
