Ipod touch + external display?

wondering if I could hook the touch up to a bigger screen so I could surf the web

You can only view photos and videos on external displays. You also must use the new official Apple composite or component video cables to get your iPod touch to display content on a TV.

I have the compostie cables and am able to watch my videos on my tv, but, how do you view pictures on an external source??

Well, I am not sure if the iPod touch can output pictures to a TV. I am just used to typing that as I went from owning a 5G 60GB iPod to a 16GB iPod touch. I can't try TV out with my iPod touch as I don't own Apple's new cables.

Only on videos or music videos.

If you start a picture slideshow, it takes a couple seconds but it will show up on your tv.
